Strange Oil Level Reading

Featured Replies

Hi

Got a Fiesta 1.4 zetec on a 2005 plate, bit of a strange one here, when I try and check my engine oil levels, if I look at the dipstick with the notches facing the lefthand side, it reads full, if I re dip the oil tank with the notches on the righthand side it looks only 2/3 full of oil. Never encountered this before, is there a right or wrong way I should be looking at the dipstick?

Thanks

Are you sure it's seating properly when you turn it in the tube?

I think so, I'll give it another go

That's right mine like that not much you can do about it

The dipstick is definitely sat in the tube properly, not sure which reading to go by
