Radio Help

Featured Replies

Hi

I've not had the battery replaced yet each time I start the car the journey miles keeps resetting and the radio looses its code.

Anyone had any experience with this kind of problem?

Also is there anyone who could help me with the code for the radio? Serial V028604

Without info on car model year and radio impossible to say.

I've sorted the radio, but still suffering the following issues if anyone can offer any advise (its an 09 place Zetec)

  • Trip miles covered keeps resetting each time the engine is turned off
  • Fuel consumption seams excessive, currently getting under 200 miles per tank of fuel (and no I don't drive like a lunatic)
  • I have had a few occasions now despite doing good distances (20 miles +) per day of motorway driving whenever I stop the engine I won't start again without me attaching a power pack to the battery.

Could all these issues be related to the battery needing changing or is there more to it / other things I should be checking?

Check the alternator output with a multimeter and get a garage to do a drop test on the battery if you dont have a proper load tester.

Sounds like the battery has had enough - typical ymptoms. As above though an alternator and battery test will confirm.
