Right Indicator Working Intermittenly

Featured Replies

Any one know why my right indicators are working intermittently?

I have a 2010 Fiesta and its been back and forth to the garage and they are struggling with it.

Its had a new indicator stork but thats not solved the problem. Very frustrating as I don't know when I'm not going to be able to indicate right - one day its fine the next its not.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Thanks

sounds like body control module is at fault, the indicator switch just gives a switching signal for the bcm to send feed to left and right indicators.

does the hazard lights work on each corner when the right indicators stop working?

Check all the bulbs are in there fittings correctly and then check the light fittings themselves for a good earth to the body.

When you say they work intermittently is that not at all or flash quickly?

When they are not working they don't flash at all. I can't hear the clicking sound and the green arrow on the dashboard comes on once then goes.

get the garage to check all connectors at the body control module for secure fit

Ahhhhhhhhh, it's like a breath of fresh air, I'm happy to see that you actually know you have a problem. Most drivers I see/follow wouldn't know if they worked or not, i.e, they don't use them thus forcing everyone else to guess using telepathy ;)

I had a similar problem on my focus, it was a poor connection at the fuse box.

Thanks for your replies. The car has gone to a specialist electrical garage and they have found corrosion in the comfort control module caused by condensation. Fingers crossed this solves the problem and I'll be able to drive safely again. Its been a nightmare few weeks not knowing if I can indicate right or not!
