Turbo Issues Or Not?

I've had my fiesta a year now from a couple of weeks of owning it i noticed oil around the inlet pipe. Only a little at first and then it has gradually got more and more after cleaning it. I took it back to the dealer under warranty and they said it was normal and fine. Im no ford tech but to me the amount of oil is not normal as im refilling the oil often. The garage i got it fromnis defining the amountnof oil as a misting and im just wanting to know what other people would do from here?

How many miles has this beauty done?

  • Author

41,503 to be precise

When you say inlet pipe, inlet pipe to what, the turbo?

  • Author

Yeah the rubber hose from the turbo to the airbox

OK so that's blow-by from the engine, does look excessive to me. Has the car got service history?

  • Author

Only one year missing from before i bought it

Did you buy it from a Ford dealer or a non-franchise? Could have the wrong oil in it, how much are you putting in?

  • Author

A none ford dealership, never thought of the oil grade, takes a couple of litres every 1000 miles id say

You have a problem, it should not use 2 litres of oil every 1K miles. get the oil and filter changed for the correct grade and check it again.

Its booked in for another check of them although the warranty has now actually ran out they said they will check again and if faulty repair what is necessary
