well as I've never had a point on my licence or any accident or near miss in 20 years driving I'll carry on

Drinking or eating whilst driving could result in a driving without due care & attention conviction ( CD10 )

It also doubles the chance of an accident occuring

some one talking sense

well as I've never had a point on my licence or any accident or near miss in 20 years driving I'll carry on

why change the habits of a life time. just because you do it and dont have an accident doesn't make it right .

Jeez I drive some 35k a year in my job. And maybe another 5k in the car

by law I have to drive at 50 max on a single carriageway Nat speed limit road and people take all sorts of risks to overtake my van. The list of things peoples bad driving habits is vast.

Still don't understand how this thread became totally off topic. I asked a simple question and someone sensibly answered. Anyway I've found what I originally asked for so thanks for the opinions

its been a real pleasure .

only if your under age or you have some one under 18 in the car

Of course now all murderers and rapists are dealt with We have all the time in the world to chase this up.

It's a non-starter like that rubbish concerning heights of young passengers and booster seats.

Baton - check

Cuffs - check

PAVA - check

Tape measure - ???

Lets get back to the original purpose of this thread eh?

in b4 lock

locking this thread would at least put an end to the holier than thou / sanctimonious drivel being spouted by the perfect drivers and their high standards..

seriously , wind your necks in.

If we can return to the serious subject of the original post them there won't be a need to moderate this thread more.

Nobody is a perfect driver, I'm advanced response trained and still wouldn't big up my driving.

We all make mistakes on the road, it's learning from these mistakes and moving on that makes us better next time.

To err is human after all.

I've found the one I need thanks to Jack McGuire.

I think the air vent type would be dodgy considering the weight of a can or small bottle but maybe it's fine

Even a simple plastic hook over holder is decent enough.

I bought 2 of those off eBay but the hook part isn't long enough to reach the window the edge of the door cards is too deep

The console middle holder is a perfect fit for 250ml cans of redbull and the larger holder closest to the arm rest is a perfect fit for the 350ml can, you can even extend the arm rest to stop it moving about.

Of course I'm sure redbull is bad for your driving as well but its not any worse than having any conversation at all in the car, face to face, hands free, or mobile to your ear, they all drastically effect driving, turns out music greatly effects perception of speed too!

other than that ive yet to find something that is useful for holding a drink, perhaps I could mod in a platypus somehow, have a completely hands free drinking experience to keep some folk happy.

I have seen a Platypus used before.

Problem comes when 2 litres of fluid are slopping around inside you and you have a bladder the size of a thimble and no stops for miles.

I've got a Camelback - slots into the pocket on the back of the drivers seat. As it's a military variant, it has all of the webbing attachments - so it's really easy to secure to the seat back.

However, I have no problems with the cup holders...I tend to have a McDonald's or Costa coffee in there - not a bad fit lol

Could you hook one of those cup holders over the passenger side of the center console?

Don't see an issue with sipping on a drink (not boiling hot) - still have one hand on the wheel and I'd hope people would be sensible enough to only do it on a straight and not negotiating parked cars and bends...

this is what you need

Have any of you seen the size of cup holders in the new mondeo and smax? For our market theres a cup holder raiser so you dont lose your beloved costa or mc donalds drink in there. seriously deep for the american size of cups
