Weird Engine Behaviour Or Am I Just Being An Idiot

Featured Replies

Overtook a bloke tonight on way home from work that was doing 40mph up the on ramp to get onto the a1 so I did go for it quite a bit.

Once off the a1 I noticed my car didn't appear to have the same oomph as before. Just come back in after seeing spectre and although no dual carriageways it does have the turbo feeling back I think ie the slight lag on acceleration and the noise is there but I'm worried about blowing the turbo?

I don't usually put my foot to the floor but this is one time I have and I feel like I might have done something. No bangs or anything when I did the acceleration, no smoke and car is running ok and no lights on dash.

So am I worrying over ing nothing then?

Yeh proberly nothing cal if it was me I would recreate the same drive on the same road at the same speed just to be sure just to put my mind at ease as I'm too are a bit of a worrier

I won't be flooring it again that's for sure.

I'll see, probably forgotten by tomorrow morning and won't notice anything. Sometimes I think I worry about the engine too much.

Was the engine properly warmed up?

Had been running for 10/15 mins before this happened in traffic and 30/ 50 mph zones

I drive like that all the time any only had loss of power once. I'm sure the overboost timed out for me and went into limp mode. Everything was fine after.

Cheers willy nice to know it will take some abuse. I'll take it out tomorrow for a spin and see what it's like.

Took the car to the gym today and it seemed fine. Wonder if I could just be getting used to it too so the power doesn't feel as there as it was when I first got it
