New To Ford 1.4 Fiesta Titanium 2011

Featured Replies

Hey everyone I've just bought a 2011 plate fiesta titanium in silver. I'm new to ford as made the change from vauxhal ASTRA H that kept on letting me down. It was remapped from 1.7 diesel to approx 1.9.

I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to do to update the stereo to get Sync? Read a lot of posts on here some say it's not available some say there was an update from 2012?

I've gone on the ford Etis site and it says there's software updates available for the radio, the radio front controls and a ecu update? How do I get these updates? I have a usb connection in the car?

Really hope to start enjoying these forums I was a regular on the Astra forums. This is a new car to me and user to driving diesel. Love the fiesta and pick it up Friday. The climate control was prob my most wanted feature.

Thank you.

Richard.

Hi and welcome Richard

I'm sorry to tell you but you won't be able to get sync on your Fiesta. Sync only came out when the Fiesta was facelifted in early 2013. The hardware will fit but just won't work.

Ah ok. So the best I can do is the radio update that was for fiestas 2008-2012 that I've seen?

Also how do I get the other software updates listed on Etis?

You can only update your bluetooth module if you have usb. All other updates are dealer only options which are chargeable at hourly rates.

Thank you for the link, I came across something similar. I will pick the car up on Friday and then try to do the update. I do have bluetooth audio and phone features to make calls. Tried this out in the car. The frustrating thing though is that I cant keep the phone plugged in via usb and have audio going thruogh the cable as it says there are no tracks. This is correct because I dont use the Ipod on the phone I use music apps like Spotify or Mixcloud/Soundcloud so I would just want to put the sound through the car. I can do this if I do it via bluetooth audio but as soon as I plug the phone on charge it disconnects the BT audio.

So is there a way to do the bluetooth audio and have the phone on charge at the same time?

Yes, use the cigarette lighter socket to charge the phone ;)

Yes, use the cigarette lighter socket to charge the phone ;)

Would be more convenient to not have to buy a cigarette lighter usb adapter thing.

Picking the car up on Friday but like when I bought my Astra I wanna check there's no fault codes stored in it. How can I bring up the fault codes menu?
