White Residue? Should I Be Worried

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was in and around my engine bay this evening, just checking on a few things, and I noticed a white looking residue on the bonnet latch, and around one of the battery terminals. I touched it to see if it just came away, and it felt all sticky.

I had my car serviced about 3 weeks ago, and since then, this is the first time I have looked at the engine bay. I wandered if it would have been something the technicians placed on there but was unsure, so thought I would ask

Cheers!

It's probably grease - so no worries if it is & yes it should be there :)

Cheers pal, just nice to get some reassurance every once in a while you know aha ;)

Looking at the battery you can see it's spray grease.

My regular garage always does this too (including door locks and hinges) .

...and all that gizz, maybe?? (Editor won't let me write J to the IZZ.)

Sorry, couldn't help myself, with the substance being white and sticky. :D
