Bluetooth Oddity?

Featured Replies

Have a Sony dab system in my 2012 grand c-max which has bluetooth. One weird thing I've noticed which is annoying - it seems that turning off the stereo turns off the bluetooth phone connection. I can't find a setting that keeps the phone connected ready to make/receive calls with the stereo turned off. I've had cars with bluetooth before and the phone is always connected regardless of whether you happen to be listening to music. Surely there must be a way to do this with the ford?

This is just how it is on the Pre Sync headunits.

The bluetooth is controlled by the headunit, and it must be on.

If you don't want to listen to anything, you just have to turn the volume to 0 or switch to a source not playing anything.

my sync works with radio off. So you must have Bluetooth version prior to sync1

Sony Head Unit

It's this head unit, the Sony job.

Yeah thats Pre Sync as audio controls are bottom right on the steering wheel instead of top right.

Ah well, I guess I can just turn it to radio and drop the volume. Weird design flaw though, never seen that before!

can you not put it on aux mode? this way the phone still phone but there is no need to turn the the volume

That would be the best solution but I have both USB and bluetooth audio coming in via aux so I'd have to navigate to line-in to silence it.
