Does anybody know the best way to clean an egr valve off a 2006 focus 1.8 tdci? Would I use egr cleaner or just paper towels

    you can use Wynns EGR cleaner to do this.

    Is the EGR blanked off? i would fit a solid blanking plate once you have cleaned the system, you will love the improvement

    make sure you get the diesel one, its a yellow can

    Ive used wynns on my old 2006 1.8tdci in the past with no issues...however use only very short blasts. Any long blasts will stall the engine.

    I heard that there is zero point to cleaning an egr if you blank it.... So I'd just blank it and be done...

    well you would have gunk in the intake manifold which is what the egr cleaner will clean. then you blank the EGR off so no more gunk can get in there
