Ford Focus Fuel Filler Door / Flap : Stolen Or Fell Off ? ! ?

Featured Replies

Iam not that lucky they do the tank just as its been filled :)

It's an age thing... From Mk2.5 the flap no longer locks with easyfuel. It doesn't need to as you can't syphon the fuel from there anyway.

It's a lot of effort though, if you want to nick some fuel could just pierce the tank...

Does that stop cretins pouring sugar into your fuel filler ? Or is it an Urban Myth that some "lads" do that as a prank "because it makes the engine blow up" ? ! ? Whether that`s true or not, or ever done or not, I have to say I feel better having my fuel filler locked.........

You cant pour anything in there at all unless you have an easy fuel funnel (same size as petrol/diesel pump nozzle)...it just drains straight onto your feet otherwise lol, as people often find when using fuel additives.

It's not a myth about the sugar, but it won't make your engine blow up either, would just stop running. However, I'm sure kids have got much more interesting things to be doing than trying to sabotage your car, or are you provoking it lol? :P
