Finally Ordered Bluefin For 180bhp Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Ran a "what if" through go-compare and my insurance quote went from £495 to £588 (both inc company use, legal protection and breakdown).

Despite the 182BHP spec, I still feel that it is "gasping" through the 2,000 to 4,000 rev range.

I had a 16 valve Cavalier SRi in the 90s with the same issue. Had it chipped, slight improvement in fuel economy (1-2 MPG) but far more responsive through the rev range. Pulled like a train through third gear.

A quick calc and even a 2 MPG improvement will offset the insurance cost (the £300 chipping cost comes out of the "smile factor" budget:smile:).

Hi,

Ok, top speed on UK roads will never be achieved safely, so ok, does anyone know if having your 1.0 (125bhp) or 1.6 EcoBoost engine remapped, will it be quicker in the 0-60 mph sprint?

Liam.
