OBD port constant use, in the way

hello I don't know if this is a silly question but I use an app on my phone called torque to connect to a bluetooth OBD adapter in the port of the car, I would like to have this plugged in all the time so I can monitor it and see the values and that I get from it but when the adapter is plugged in (near the drivers legs) it is in a very awkward position and I end up hitting it as the door is open on the flap.

1. Is there a way of having this smaller
or
2. Is there a way of moving it but then reconnecting it back up when I sell the car?

Would be grateful for suggestions and help,
