alternator belt

Featured Replies

how hard is it to replace a alternator belt as mine coming to end i have a mk6

There are 2 belts on mk6 fiesta, certainly on petrol models. Both are stretch belt types so a special tool is required (officially) or it can be done with some careful screwdriver placement and turning the crank.

If youre needing to replace your alternator belt, it may be worth checking your timing belt doesn't need doing too...

The belts are a complete pain in the backside unless you half a good tool, or good screwdriver & big manhood...

I spent nearly 4 hours with a rubbish tool trying to refit mine after a timing belt change. In anger I picked up a half inch extension bar & popped it on first try! Haha
