Wheel nuts

Featured Replies

Really embarrassing question from a "silly old codger"...How do I remove the road-wheels from an 11-plate Fiesta Titanium?, the wheels are the original 15-spoke alloys. I have the key for the lock-nut but the others have some kind of (tin-plate/alloy) covers. I've "You-Tubed" it "Drill & pick"??? I can't believe THAT!, searched this forum,...even checked the Owner's Manual,...no mention!!! Apologies in advance!!!

the tin-plate/alloy covers as you desvribe it is part of the wheel nut assy, just put your wheel wrench on and undo.

Yet another stupid, money maker from Ford.Make sure the socket is the correct metric size, not an A/F equivelent  one and that it goes all the way on.If the nut is really tight the sides round quite easily if not done correct as i found out,

The  tin-plate/alloy covers eventually fall off. You then have to find another size socket to fit.

I had to go up the scrappy for 4 new ones because once missing they look sxxx.
