Mk7 Fiesta rear dash cam position

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Where have you placed your cams on your mk7 Fiesta's?

Thanks

just at the top of wipe sweep keeps it clean

Legally you should aim to just have the lens in the swept area of the rear, anything more than a few CM into it is technically illegal iirc.

Eh!

I went and looked it up - it seems I was thinking of the front windscreen. It's an offence to put anything within 145mm left or right of the center of the steering wheel, or any object (or damage to the windscreen) larger than 4cm on the swept area of the front windscreen.

Doesn't seem to get enforced though (other than failing an MOT).

I can't find anything restricting the rear so should be all good there.

aha! I understand now 'jbell' I didn't think there was anything about the rear window.

Just ordered myself a second camera for the rear so I'll see where mine ends up but I'm guessing top of the wipe sweep just like Dez said, just wondering where to run the cables for it.

When my last car went for its MOT they took the dash cam and the satnav holder off the windscreen.   The guy said they were not allowed to issue a pass certificate if there was anything on the windscreen.

What did you get? I've look on youtube for guides and they seem to run it through the headlining down to the fuse box for hard wire.

Rear cam will run along the roof lining right to the back where the boot is

Just got and installed my rear dash cam. Here's how it looks.

Mines now bang in the middle but it's always a bit distracting!
