kabulu
Hi guys, I went to timpsons and asked if they could sort me a spare key. They said no. I have a keyless fob but on eBay you can get the fob second night hand and a new blank blade. Surely after having the blade cut it only needs programming? Any idea if this is Ford only or diy/auto locksmith territory? Thanks!
Stoney871
There is a contact pad in the car where you need to position the key and then program it via IDS. In my car (2015 Focus ST) the pad is denoted by a key fob shaped image in the bottom of the armrest storage bin. kabulu
Right ok thanks. Is that just like VAG com but for Fords and is it something you can do yourself?
Stoney871
If you have access to an IDS module then doable yourself. Can't see on tapatalk what year your car is but check out the Forscan forum, they have the Forscan software and it can do PATS II coding as long as you apply for an extended 2 month licence (all free). All depends on whether your car is supported for PATS II yet or not. Sent from my SM-G930F
kabulu
Thanks for the info. I've got a 2010 Zetec S with keyless.
Stoney871
Is that the mk2.5 design? If so Forscan supports PATS in/out coding under the extended licence. Sent from my SM-G930F
Stoney871
http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=839 You also need to register at autokeyprog.com to obtain the correct coding hex values. Sent from my SM-G930F

kabulu
Ok that all looks complicated and says up to 2009 so guess I'm out of luck... I'll contact a locksmith. Cheers!
Stoney871
Ah a fiesta, couldn't see that info on Tapatalk. TBH it should still work on your car.
kabulu
Thanks I'll have a look into it but eBay are doing good brand new coded and cut for £80 so might save the hassle. Your article mentions deleting files which scares me 😂
Stoney871
As long as you save the original config file then you can always revert if something goes awry. Sent from my SM-G930F
