Induction kits and pipework

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I need some advice.

I'm looking to get a little more turbo sound from my zetec s ecoboost, if possible.  I've been looking at induction kits like the pumaspeed stage 1, stage 3, charge pipes and so on, but I'm not sure which will give me what I'm after. I'm don't want massive induction roar and I'm not fussed about power gain as I know this is minimal.

Would be great to hear from people who have any of these mods to see what effect the have.

I've got the Autospecialists induction kit.

It's £150 posted, comes with a heat shield & Cold air ducting. It also has a new black powercoated & branded Air flow sensor casing.

It has increased throttle response and made no difference to fuel economy

It's added a slightly louder induction noise with a nice noise when the boost recirculates when you let off.

I bought it in preperation for my Stage 2 180bhp build

Just changing the airbox for a cone filter will give you more noise but "may" affect profomance. Other options are enclosed air filter systems which cost more like the J1 or Mountune  (which I have) boxes.

An uprated crossover pipe will also amplify the noise.

That's why mine has a heat shield & 2 cold air feeds ;) bargain!
