Matt Black Badges

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

On the back of my 15 plate Deep impact blue ZS i have the following badges. I wish to change the colour of them to matt black If you have any suggestions on the best way to do this i am open ears.

"eco boost"

"Zetec S"

"Fiesta"

Please note i power wash my car so must be able to withstand this type of pressure.

cheers,

adam

Just leave them chrome! the paint will only come off eventually!

But if you still want matt black badges I suggest buying new badges and spend a few hours 'keying' the chrome surface, so the paint will stick.

Don't use car paints but something like Humbrol Acrylic Matt black which is more durable, remove the original badges and affix the black ones.

Though personally leave them be.

Plasti dip. If you do a proper job of 'painting' them it should be fine. I found mine would lift slightly in areas. But I did them on a cold damp day and did them quickly.

When you jet wash. Move slightly away from them and try to avoid aiming for the edge and they should last

If not a tin is 13 quid and should last through quite a few replacements

Don't there are but thinking about supraking said! Maybe having them dipped might be a better option, either way it won't be easy.

I wouldn't cheat in painting them, saw a red Audi today and the car had all the chrome parts sprayed matt black and was coming off! Looked awful.

Enamel paint will last longer.

Sent from my SM-G930F

Humbrol Acrylic matt black in the spray cans is just as hardy as the traditional Enamel.
