Help fitting scuff plates

Bought some scuff plates and had a read of the instructions - says I need to pull up the rubber door seal. Had a little look at the car and the seal seems to be quite stubborn to pull up, is it just a case of pulling harder? Worried that I might damage the seal itself.

Car is a mk7.5.

    Yeah the seal will be stiff, make sure your fingers are right under it as close to the car as possible and pull it straight upwards.

    Ok thanks, is it best to pull from a specific point such as the centre?

    Cheers mate, both fitted nicely after getting the seal out the way, right was a lot more stubborn than the left :laugh:
