Help With Keeping Sand Type Dirt Away

Featured Replies

So lately there seems to be something that looks a lot like sand and is slightly rough which always seems to be on my car. I'll give it a good wash and then the following day it's back again. I've attached some pictures to show what it is, hopefully you guys can work it out because I haven't a clue what it is or where it's coming from.

It's a mix of pollen and Saharan sand, we've had it down here too.

It rained yesterday and it's all gone now from my car.

You can just rinse it off (don't use a pressure washer it might scratch it), not much you can do to stop it, other than putting a cover on the car.

Ah thanks Alex we've had it before but never this intense thought there might of been something else to blame, I thought Midnight Sky was a good colour, but it shows this so much it just looks dirty all the time.

It's very fine sand blown over from the Sahara and it is extremely abrasive.   Wash it off with plenty of water.

Yeah I have been looking into getting a Foam lance I spoke to Autobrite and they said my connection looks like a Lavor but they're not entirely sure it'll work so not really sure what to do.

Autobrite lances are a complete rip off. £40+ for the same lance as others are selling for £20.

I simply use snowfoam to safely remove the sand/dust and any other bits that may have made its way onto the paintwork

Although with the weather currently it's mud that I'm having to remove more of jaha

Yeah I usually just rinse and then use wash and wax shampoo but considering its not very thick it doesn't seem to pick a lot of the more stubborn stuff up. I know the feeling about the mud around the bottom of the arches, makes it look much dirtier than it is.

So rinsed it down, dried it off and took my spray wax over it and it's looking much better.
