Seat handle issue - MK6 2006

Good afternoon,

I was wondering if anyone was able to help as I've found some of the information quite limited regarding solving broken seat handles on the fiesta. I've got a Fiesta Zetec S 2006 and ever since I've had it the handle on the passenger side has been broken. I finally got round to fixing it this week and was under the impression all I'd need was the replacement handle as I am still able to pull on the cable (with pliers) to recline the chair. The housing for the original handle had already been removed, what Im left with is in the attached photo below. I have looked at this guide and because I am unable to put the handle straight back on I suspect something else is missing possibly? However Im not sure what it originally looked like so cannot be sure. I did consider taking the drivers side handle off to compare but Im afraid Id break it trying to unhook it from the seat.
