How do you clean your car?

Featured Replies

How did you get your rear arch liners (material ones) that clean, Ben!?  I know your cars a lot newer than mine but I just cant get them to look clean at all with the pressure washer.

One of very few cars I've seen where the OCD clean sticker is appropriate (from an OCD sufferer lol).

APC and the pressure washer work well for me.

APC & a stiff brush for those particularly bad wheel arches :) , then pressure wash it to finish

Also, unless you use purified water you should never allow your car to dry naturally as you'll leave watermarks which are never fun

I'm amazed you managed to get the car looking that good with products you can buy in a supermarket. Gingerflame has given me some good recommendations that I'll be trying next month probably, I stopped buying stuff from supermarkets thinking I couldn't get decent results, saying that the first time I cleaned my wife's car I just used my pressure washer, simoniz shampoo and a micro fibre noodle sponge.  Last time I was in asda the car plan stuff was half price so may give it a go.  Do you dry your car or let it dry naturally?   I bought 2 microfiber drying towels in Costco a few days ago for £3 and gave them a go yesterday and they made a huge difference!

oo, forgot about drying, i do have a couple large microfibre towels, but ive got a few packs of 24 microfibres from asda at £7 each. i use the carplan quick detailer as an aid to drying.

but yeah its amazing what can be done for so little. i am going to branch out to better products (from the ginge), but the amount i go through. its good tto use some cheap products :)

im not usually one for ocd. (atleast not clean wise) but i felt it was well earnt :)

and the rear arches. got bug and tar remover. alloy wheel cleaner, a good shampoo. jet wash. and 2 brushes. then a dry down wih quick detailer and slapped on abit of tyre shine to help keep them looking reasonable

Well, I washed and waxed mine just before xmas 2015, Meguiers Gold & Collinite. I did promise I'd re-wash it on the middle Sunday of Wimbledon but they happened to play tennis. As i've said b4, I only use it when I wanna go somewhere

Actually, it still looks amazing, about 5k in 20 months. Natural rainfall seems to remove the usual *rap
