Fiesta advice for mods

Featured Replies

Just bought a fiesta Zetec 1.25 80 bhp, 2013 in red

first car due to engine size, insured as stock, looking for cheap mods that won't affect insurance etc to make it look a bit sportier, any idea's??

Pretty much all mods will affect your premium, check first before buying/fitting anything.

Was looking at maybe, getting the wheels and wee other bits sprayed black, wouldn't have to tell insurance

You would.

ANYTHING you do to/have your car that isn't stock/standard has to be declared to your insurance, if you have an accident and haven't declared anything you're not insured.

in the past ive managed to declare alloy wheels built in satnav and roof rack without a premium increase but they had to be listed to remain covered. does depend on the insurer though. some are really strict even insisting things like stickers are declared.

The way the insurer looks at it is - does it, in any way, make the car more likely to be stolen.

Correct, there are companies (for example, Green Light, Adrian Flux) who will allow mods with no premium increase/extra fee's but you must still declare anything or your insurance certificate will be void.

Hi,

If you do need any help with insurance at all then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.
