Cars being stolen without keys

Featured Replies

Its quite well known that Ford ST's are being stolen without keys using the OBD port scum bags are breaking glass in door by O/s wing mirror which is in sensor blind spot so does not set off alarm then plug in to OBD and switch off alarm and open doors then using OBD start car and drive off   take fuse out of the in car fuse box behind glove box to OBD port so it cant be used

but it doesn't stop them smashing window to try

Ive put my OBD port in a secure steel box with an anti-drill lock. its a secure system built by ProtectAVan and is Thatcham approved,

solid piece of kit and they provide window stickers to give these thugs some indication they may be there a while. £130 and you can fit it yourself and no two keys are the same. (other than the two provided in the pack)

Sorry what is the purpose of this post?

He's trying to inform people how they are being stolen and a cheap solution, popping the port out and hiding it/locking it away is a better option and a disklok is a far better visual deterent.

i think they smash the door lock rather than smash the window though judging by the pics of attempted thefts

If you want to try and avoid having the window smashed, it's worth getting some stickers to say the obd port is disabled.

There is a chance they won't see it, but it might at least reduce the chance of the glass being broken.
