Just swapped the front seats in my sons mk6 fiesta now airbag warning light is on tried disconnecting connection under seat and reconnecting but light is still on???

    Do the seats have side airbags?

    If not you should first check the seatbelt pretensioners. The seatbelt pretensioners are basically small explosives that pretension the seatbelts in case of an accident. Just like airbags the pretensioners can only be used once. If the seats came from a car that was involved in an accident the seatbelt pretensioners are activated and needs to be replaced.The RCN (Restraint Control Module) monitors the resitance of the pretensioners. If the pretensioners were previously activated the RCM does not measure any resistance and activates the airbag warning light.
