Fiesta Clutch acting up?

Featured Replies

Have a bit of a funny one.

Today when I started the car...i pressed the clutch...it had no resistance at the start...had resistance in the middle and towards the floor there was no resistance?

Car engaged in gears fine though.

Only moved the car about 10 meters to move it of a yellow line.

im thinking maybe the cold affected it but not sure? Should it be something I should be worried about? Clutch was only changed about 2 months ago

Check the clutch pedal under the dash, there is a common issue on the mk6 with regards to the clutch pivot point and a clip that comes loose - check the condition under the dash and report back.

Apologies for the late reply. I did check it last night and it seemed OK. I suspect it may be hydralic fluid?

I have a full service booked in tomorrow and will keep you posted!

Check for any fluid on top of the gearbox, might just be something simple as needing the fluid replaced/bled.

Pretty clueless with where parts are on the car. Did check the floor and nothing was there that indicated there was a leak.

I'll ask the mechanic to double check too. Same guy that changed my clutch and master part back in September

Might not necessarily have a leak, my cylinder (just above the pedals) went on my fiesta mk6, occasionally when you pressed the pedal you had no resistance so you had to pump it until the resistance came back. There was no fluid loss!

It could also be the cylinder inside the gearbox that's starting to go. (There's two cylinders, master /slave so fingers crossed it isn't a gearbox open job!)
