Electric window and central locking problem

Featured Replies

Ok so my car has me baffled...

the electric window on the passenger side doesn't work from the button on either side, however the drivers side works fine (so it isn't the fuse). There's definitely a connection to it because the light comes on under the passenger side window switch. However... I'm also having a problem with the central locking. If I lock the doors from the drivers side, the passenger door doesn't lock... but if I lock the doors from the passenger side, everything locks as it should!

any ideas??

did the window and central locking problem start at the same time? or did they start at different times.

i had a focus where the window would not move but I could tell it was jammed because the motor was drawing current. I could tell this because if i had the ignition turned on (but not engine running) when i pressed the window button i could see the oil and ignition light on the dashboard dim slightly.  can you try that?

I had to take the door trim off and take the motor out. I could not find anything wrong, put it all back together and it was fine for many years. I never found the fault and it never re-occurred.
