Help - new ticking/squeaking noise :S

Featured Replies

Hi all,

First post so hello!

I have a 2014 TDCi Fiesta which I loveeeeee. Unfortunately, I noticed tonight it's sounding poorly.

As I pulled into my garage I noticed at idle the engine had an additional ticking noise going on, roughly every second or two very rhythmically.

Then as the engine is switched off, there is a squeaking noise in place of the tick, approx 3 times, sounding like something is winding down then the car is silent as normal.

I've got warranty until next March so booked to go in next Thursday (earliest available) but I do quite a lot of miles and need to use him Mon-Weds but worried to do damage. I wondered if anyone could give me ideas on what issue might be and help reduce my anxiety about the fact I have to use the car next week before it goes in. Also would be worth knowing if the issue is likely to be covered by warranty or not.

I know this is vague but any advice appreciate,

Thanks all

Margot.
