The mystery of EAC Fail strikes again.

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I know people have had this trouble from Fiestas before, just wondering if anybody has really figured out what the mystery is?

Here's my version, looking for some wisdom here. Something really strange is happening with my Ford Fiesta 2002 (1.4 petrol).

It starts fine, but if I drive it around for more than 10 minutes and turn it off, it won't start again and flashes EAC FAIL message. All I have to do is sit in the car and wait 10-15 min and then it starts again. It seems like it needs time to get its breath to start again... It has nothing to do with temperature, because sometimes the car doesn't even reach normal running temp and it won't start - it literally just needs about 9-10 min and then it starts again.

Any idea what to do?

A bit of a long shot as this thread is old I know but did you solve this problem I have the same issue the car will start fine but after 10+ minutes of driving it will show EAC fail and will not restart unless I leave it for between 5-15 minutes

Thanks

Did you read the link in the post above yours? It has some more detailed info in it that may help you out.

Hi thanks for the reply yes I have had a look at the link above and will try some of the advice from it, was hoping the original poster had solved there issue as after hours of searching they are the first person with the exact same problem of having to wait for 10-15 minutes till the car will start again, Other then that the car is fine just have to wait 10-15 minutes between journeys.
