08 Fiesta 1.4 door lock problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I bought this 5 door 1.4 08 reg Fiesta 1.4 a couple of weeks ago, to be honest, I don't know if it came with this problem :-(

My son found that the rear nearside rear passenger door is not locking, I've no idea why, the others work fine.

Hopefully I'll find the answer from one of you guys with the "know how" of this type of fault ?  please :-).

got to go to work now, so probs won's see any reply till tomorrow, many thanks in advance

(btw i gather its the upto 08 model, as i think it changed that year)

Most likely the door latch/module failed.  Dads Mondeo had the same issue, cost £15 for a used one from the scrapyard and wasn't too difficult to fit.

I assume you mean it fails to lock with central locking but does still lock if you press the internal door handle inwards. could just be a loose connection somewhere but I think you will need to remove the internal door panel in any event to replace the electrical module thing in the door or to check connectors, test with circuit tester.

if it unlocks with central locking and then does not lock with central locking it is a pain and it would be better to disconnect so it does not unlock with central locking. depends if that door gets used much. Rear doors don't get used much on my car, if I had that problem I would probably disconnect it on that door rather then replace a part.

If it was like it when you bought it, it may be that the owner never even knew
