Mirror/indicator fault

I have an 08 focus and the indicator bulb in the drivers side mirror is not working. The bulb has been replaced but it is still out. When I was adjusting the mirror I noticed that if I press the down button the drives side indicators light up but the one in the mirror doesn't. The down button will light the indicator no matter which mirror is selected to be adjusted. Has anyone come across this before. Thank you.

    strange. The first thing I would do is check the connector block on the mirror wires to see if you have connection problems (eg. unplug, does it look iffy, spray in wd40, plug back in with a good bit of jiggling about to ensure good connection)
