Water ingress from wierd thing in boot??

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm having issues with water ingress into the spare wheel well, it was absolutely full of water so I mopped it all up and fully dried it with a heat gun, I then used the hosepipe to simulate heavy rain and had a look in to see what had happened. A small amount of water has managed to get in but I'm not sure how. Here is a link to a video I shot which better shows the problem.

That's the air vent, flaps are probably jammed open with road crap. Try and clean it out with an old toothbrush.

An area that could lead to rust and knowing Ford it won't take long for the rot to set in.

Do as the other guy says and really clean the vent, dry everything then blast the inside of the steel area with ''Wax & Oil''

I had the same and had it fixed under warranty. water was getting in under the roof seal. new sealant and all sorted

Mine was a mk7 so no help sorry
