Unknown Convers+ Warning Message

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a warning message that pops up now and again which is a yellow warning reading "Engine Service Now" It is a '61 plate Mondeo Mk4 Titanium X Auto TDCI

I have googled and checked manuals but cannot find reference to this specific message. I have found similar saying "Engine Malfunction Service now" but this is not what I get. I had a brand new Cluster Display installed by Ford in June which was different to the original so assumed it was just an upgraded version. I had no warnings until 4 weeks ago by which time I had done almost 15000 miles with no issue.

When the message came up the first time I had no issue with the driving of the car or any safe mode and when I started the car again the next day the message had gone

I spoke to my local mechanic who said it was just a service reminder which I doubted as usually it is a spanner and says oil service. As the car was coming up on its due mileage for service I booked it in. My mechanic check for any fault codes and it all came back clear. By this time I had got the spanner symbol for a service so therefore I know it is not this.

I assumed it was just a mad moment and have had nothing until today when it came on again. I have read that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery sometimes clears gremlins but I had a new battery fitted a week ago so this was done anyway.

I haven't been to Ford yet as the message clears every time you switch off the car for a while so I know they will say they cant find anything and will charge for the pleasure.

I have attached a photo. Can anyone help identify what it is?????

Thanks in advance!
