Fiesta Courier Van Heater Blowing Cold

Featured Replies

Help, struggling! Fiesta Courier van on 02 plate, heater blowing cold air. I have done the following;

1. Replaced thermostat.

2. Replaced heater matrix and flushed system. Re-filled 50/50 coolant. (How many litres should system take?)

3. Removed and bypassed HCV.

4. Thermostat bypass hose to header tank found to be blocked by piece of plastic. Unblocked and warm water now flowing freely.

5. Engine run with header cap off to hopefully eliminate air locks.

Now the top radiator hose is hot, bottom cold. Hose from block to heater matrix cold. Another flush, or air lock somewhere?? Heater still blowing cold...............

Are the heater controls working as they should inside the car :smile:

Yep, all working fine, although how would I know if the heat control (hot/cold) dial is doing what it should?

Don't it open small doors inside the heater casing to allow the heat to come though

you may be able to hear them move :smile: i had same thing on a escort a few years back the cable had snapped .

Thanks for the info` Dez. Yes, cable intact doors working. I`m concerned that the heater maytrix pipe from the engine block is cool... Could it be just another flush but from a different point on the system?

Try flushing though one heat pipe then the other don't no if a pressure hose would clear it worth a go :smile:

I`ll give a go thanks.

Let us no good luck  :smile:

This sounds exactly what my issue is at the moment, I have a feeling mine might be a failed water pump though - what is the engine temp like?
