I've joined to help my old man out, he's going to need an auto due to a medical condition so will be getting rid of his manual focus and is looking at the Powershift equipped cars,

 

Ideally I'd like honest reviews and opinions from those of you have driven/owned them,

 

He's looking at a couple of cars from my11 to my64 so if there's any glaring issues please post up

    My thoughts are:-   MPG not good and no kick down for that extra bit of oomph.

    Also I believe most of the recent Powershift gearboxes are 'dry clutch' and not very reliable (they're prone to overheating).  Ford USA is currently dealing with ongoing litigation regarding them and I don't think any of the more recent Ford's are available with an old school auto i.e. torque converter type box.
