Divorce is final!

Featured Replies

I've officially parted with my Edge.

9 months (3 of them in dealer and body shop) and 3k miles later.

My replacement car is a Mondeo 2.0L Powershift ST line.

When I first got my Edge I was thrilled to bits with it. Lovely car.

I was unlucky and had a bad example of a good car. I lost faith in the Edge completely so did not want a replacement.

So it's goodbye from me, it was fun while it lasted.

Enjoy your Edge's all. Fine looking motor 👍

Did you reject it under the Consumer Rights Act? How was the experience of handing it back?

Just handed it back. I would have gone down that line if Ford were going to be difficult about it. They had 3 missed opportunities to put the fault right.

I think Ford were ok about it because I said I would except another new Ford model of similar spec.

Was thinking about a Mondeo Vignale but it didn't have the nice looks of an Edge. Mondeo ST comes close (ish) imo

What was the fault you had ?

Leaking pan roof.

It's well posted on here.

The minor faults I could have tolerated.

Out of interest, did you go through the dealer for a replacement vehicle or via Ford Customer Relations?

Hope you enjoy your Mondeo. Anyfirst impressions?

You had a 'good' experience with Ford compared to poor @GaryPL

make sure you post pictures of your new motor on the mondeo forum.

Both. Ford Customer Relations tended to "push things along". I can't fault FCR, they were brilliant.

Havent got my Mondeo yet, end of next week should be ready.

I've had 2 Mondeo courtesy cars, which made my mind up to go Mondeo. Both cars I've been impressed with. First one was a manual gearbox, second a power shift auto. Mine will be the latter, as was my Edge.

I'll post up my first impressions with pics. I'm expecting a firmer ride with sports suspension, and lower ride height.

Geez! I've only read a 2 pages. Grim! 😳

What car was it? 3 cylinder engine???

Did he eventually get it sorted?

Will post pics of the ST once I take ownership 👍

It's a wee fiesta. If I recall correctly he has now bought a Suzuki Swift after having received his money back, less £500 and the cost of the paint treatments

Fascinating. We bought a Fiesta in 2015 and the salesman warned us away from the ecoboost stating "significant problems". Mind you, the same dealership went into administration 3 weeks after I traded the Fiesta for my Edge!

I collected my new Mondeo ST Line X 2 weeks ago.

I must say, I'm loving this car 😀👍

No issues at all, looks stunning, and the car drives beautifully.

Same engine as my Edge (210 power shift auto) though with less weight to pull, it flys!

Shadow black

19" rock metal alloys

Adaptive headlights

Reversing camera

Privacy glass

Rear Spoiler

Active park assist

Lovely looking car that. Very similar to the Edge inside- guess part of the 'one Ford' idea. Have fun keeping it clean!

I have a small army of Eastern Europeans descend on it every week. 😀👍

Isn't it strange, i'm doing just the reverse. Out of a Mondeo 2.0 Vignale into an Edge Titamium 2.0 Powershift with a Lux Pack.

Bad experience with a good, but needy, Vignale.

Hopefully the Edge will prove it's worth.

I've had no issues with my ST X what so ever.

Strange how the build quality can be so varied in different countries.

What was wrong with your Vignale?

Hi There, sorry for the delay in replying. Been really busy.

Vignale Mondeo :-

Alloy wheels soft, fake leather on steering wheel coming off, Sync2 rubbish, paint chips too easily, seat stitching coming apart, drivers side carpet wear, door mirror back fell off, new windscreen from new as laminate fault, LED headlamps have an annoying squint, boot floor carpet marks, tyre wear, paint bubble lower osf door, Lots of other minor things.

Edge, so far so good.
