My garage tells me I need a new DPF fitted but keep reading that 1.8TDci's dont have them. Is the garage trying to rip me off



Yeah they're having you on my dad has the 1.8 TDCi and it does not have one same car, what's made them say it needs a new one? Running problems? I may be able to help with this one as my dad has had problems with his over the years.

The 1.8 TDCi has not EVER been fitted with a DPF by Ford regardless of the car it's in, if your garage is being serious they are genuinely trying to have your pants down mate! :wallbash:

1.8 doesn't have DPF.
They're taking the mickey.
Report them to trading standards immediately.

When they said DPF, did they refer to the exhaust, or were they referring to the DMF (clutch)?

Good point, people often mix up the 2 as they sound similar.
