St spoiler

Featured Replies

Hi

has anyone fitted an st rear spoiler to a mk6 5 door fiesta do you have to glue it into place ?

If you are replacing a standard spoiler then the screw holes will be in the correct place to attach your ST spoiler although I would advise using a good quality waterproof double sided trim tape to minimise water getting behind the spoiler. If your car didn’t have a standard spoiler in place then your best bet would be to bond it using gorilla glue or something similar.

Hi Alan

the trouble is I have no bolt holed in the tailgate so I will need to glue it. But the problem I have it's not quite a flush fit all the way round so I was wondering if there is a difference in tailgates between 3 and 5 door fiestas?

I had the same issue when I went to fit the spoiler onto my old mk6, I drilled the holes but wasn’t that easy as you have to drill through the outer skin then through to the inner panel with a gap between the two, my holes ended up a bit on the squint side so I just gorilla glued it in place and it remained solid until I sold it on. Yes there is a difference between the 3 and 5 door spoilers, I’ll try and attach a couple of images showing you the difference between the two.

If you look at the first image the tailgate lights don’t go all the way to the spoiler where the second image the light cluster goes right up to in line with the spoiler so the spoiler stops short

Hi

The spoiler i have over hangs the light units

Do you have a three door or a five door?

  • Author

Its a 5 door mk6.5

I’m certain the ST spoiler won’t fit the 5 door as the rear light cluster will get in the way.

yep i think you are right may need a bit of modification to spoiler or relisted on ebay

I’m sure you can get a non genuine ST spoiler that’s designed for a five door.
