Focus 2011 1.6tdci injector

Featured Replies

I have recently been reading up on the many issues with this engine.

I have just serviced it and dropped the sump and cleaned it. The pickup pipe filter was clean.

Noticed one Injector seal was leaking and replaced it.

Watching videos online they all put the oil seal in first but Haynes manual says to put it on the injector and then put it into place and tighten.

Is this the best way as I don't want it to leak again.

Also does anyone know easiest way to check the filters in the banjo bolts?

on the injector i do, with just a touch of grease to keep it there whilst fitting it. if you have the mk3 with the 8 valve engine then you wont have the issues that the 16v mk2 focus had with blockages/ turbos etc etc etc.

From the photo, how do you tell if the wet patch is from a leaking injector or from oil that spilled when refilling, seeing as it is right by the oil filler cap?
