Reversing sensors mk3

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just bougft a Mk3 estate econetic.  I wanted to fit some reversing sensors but can't find a feed in the boot. The lights are in the tailgate and I don't want to mess the wiring to this up by trying to get a new cable in.  Does anyone know of a reverse light feed near rear compartment fusebox. I don't really want to pull it apart more than I have to and trying to trace wir means headling etc. Thanks in advance

Have a look at the wiring diagram for your car - my reverse sensors connect to a main loom to the side of the boot before it splits off to various places.

My mk3 has sensors which run to a connector fixed under the car, drivers side, between the rear bumper and wheel.  I had to unplug it to take my rear bumper off when I sorted out the leaky boot vents - incidentally something that ALL mk3 owners should do.  There's a sticky for it on the main forum.  Anyway, might be worth a look under your car to see if the connector is there.  Even if you want to fit aftermarket sensors, you can make use of the wiring.
