Engine cutting out. 1.6tdci 2009

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New here. Need some advice. Recently bought a focus 1.5tdci 2009. 102k on clock. Has had the dpf done. Full service history. Very nice drive until....

This morning 630am. 2°c outside. Was on way to work, change from 1st to 2nd. Started to get approx 2.5-3k revs in second then engine cut out. Car started back up first time No issue.

Nothing coming upon dash. No smoke etc. Could this be simply a cold Engine? Ive read possible condensation on clutch plates?

What else may this be please? Any and all help required.

Thanks

Dave

There is no way condensation on clutch plates will make the engine cut out.  When my old 1.6tdci Fiesta started cutting out it turned out to be the fuel filter needed replacing. Of course it might be something different on yours.

Nope my thoughts it can't be the clutch plates but it's just what I read. It's going to dealer for plug in but there is no engine lights coming up.

Any more help id appreciate it
