Hello friends. 

Which fuse would be best to piggy pack on to hard wire a dash cam so is only on when the car is on ?? thanks guys  (2012 focus)

    I used the rear wiper fuse on my Fiesta however any switched live will do. You can test with a multi-meter if you really wanted.

    That sounds like a better choice. I've seen threads where fuse 86 is used but thats air bags and i don't want to go near them as a rule

    Fuse 85 you want on the Mk3.

    87 can also be used on the Mk3.5 (don't know if it's connected on the Mk3).

    What generation is the current focus, specifically a 2017 on a 17plate? Would that be fuse 85?

    thanks peoples. have ordered myself a hard wire kit. just fed up plugging and unplugging the adaptor and knocking it.

    87 on my Mk3 titanium is not present so no feed there. I have an always-on kit with a battery monitor (usually part of any hardwire kit these days). I originally put that in 73 for a permanent feed and the kit shuts off power when it senses low (11.7v) battery voltage.

    I having a little trouble with my DRLs at the moment and thought that was the cause so moved to 86 temporarily but will move back to 73 tomorrow (if I remember!)

    Fuse 86 if heated steering wheel IS fitted.

    Heated steering is 87.

    what is the reason no one used f61. this is for the cigar lighter and rear power socket. these circuits do shut down on  a timer once ignition is switched off.

    I prefer it switching off with ignition that's the only reason.
