Rust

Featured Replies

Has anyone got surface rust on the inner rear arch edge in front of the rear wheel? If so what have you done to combat it?

I’m the same, I Paint it with touch up paint whenever I see it appear!

Cheers guess that will have to do I have slapped on some rust converter and have the touch up set. They are not the best match but better than orange lol

Is your car silver FOCUE? Clean it up, rust converter, silver smooth hammerite.  Once its properly dry after a few weeks you can use a touch up over the top if you want to.

Starting to see a few lacy 2s and 2.5s now.

FOCUE - would it be easy for you to take a picture of the offending location? I would like to also check mine and want to know exactly where to look...

It's pouring and dark but follow the bottom edge of the rear door up inside the arch similar to below pic but rear and not quite as bad.

Crikey, that is bad!

Mine doesn't have rust there I think, but my rear frame is rusty and so is my exhaust!

Hi i came across this whilst searching for the same thing, noticed you are in the same area as me aswell,  got a 2010 model and there is some rust showing at that part no where near as bad as the photo.   Looking like some bubbles now developing on the rear wheel arch, otherwise the car runs like a dream, so pretty annoying.  Torn between trading the car in or getting it repaired, going to get a quote from a local hopefully in the next week so will maybe come back here and let you know, if i remember!!:)
