Featured Replies

Hello, i was wondering if anyone has experienced where the car wont start but all lights are showing as if the car is immobilised, a few friends have told me check the earth as it starts sometimes and not the other?

Can anyone help? Thanks

If the car was immobilised, there will be a message or flashing immobiliser light. If no message or light, it must be the starting system.

For bad starting, always first off check the battery, make sure the voltage holds up ok while trying to start. Then follow the thick leads (both earth and power) from battery down to starter, check for loose connections, or the wire feeling weak and floppy near a connection, that could be a break in the wire.

There is an earth connection on to the engine, usually on the bellhousing near the starter motor.

Then it is down to diagnosing the starter motor and solenoid, seeing if power is getting to the solenoid, and if it is, then removing the motor for test, repair or replacement.

Yep, for a 2012 with start/stop, your battery is past its best if its the original
