MisterBigMack
Heylo!!! Just picked up my Focus the other day - absolutely over the moon with it - it’s a 2012 Titanium X estate and it’s everything I was hoping for!! just a couple of questions - -on each 4 doors it has the fittings for door protectors, but for some reason it only actually has the door protector on the drivers side, I don’t know why the actual protector isn’t there, it’s something I’ve asked Evans halshaw about, but they don’t know why they aren’t there.....can I purchase these? And are they expensive and worth it and easy to install? -as everyone will probably know, this car has start-stop function - which activated when I came onto traffic lights, on my way home from the car showroom - but since then - it hasn’t activated at all when I’ve come to a complete stop...what is the reason for this? I’ve made sure the switch isn’t set to off so it’s definitley on - HELP! Thanks very much for reading and hope you can help!
TomsFocus
The stop start will only activate if the battery is well charged, engine at a decent temperature and low electrical demand (lights, heaters, audio etc). This week with the very cold temps I haven't seen mine operate much either. Also just in case you don't know, it only operates with the clutch up in neutral, not if you have your foot on the clutch in 1st.
drsdriver
The reason they are missing is probably because they have broken off, they are flimsy . You can buy them from eBay. Stop start is all down to battery condition . Could be your car needs a good run to charge it up. Try to drive with most of the electrical loads off , ie. AC, rear / front window .heaters, setting 1 , All load reduces battery charging.

Thanks very much guys - yes on Monday evening when I drove home it wasn’t too bad cold-wise and no snow just yet so that’s why it was probably working - since then it’s been awful hasn’t it so that’s probably why then and the door protector - like I said the fitting is there but the actual protector isn’t - if I order one - are they easy to fit? I would probably only get one just for the front - the rear doors I think would be fine without
drsdriver
Yes the door protectors are easy to replace when I had them on my Titanium. If you look at the bracket on your door you will see a plastic stem sticking up . The new protector has a hole in the hinge which slides over the stem / spigot. I glued mine down to stop it riding itself back up the stem. Thats how they break, they slide up then get trapped in the door as you close it. Just some super glue will do it . https://www.fordpartsuk.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Door+protector+
