Focus cutting out on boost

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

New to the group and hoping someone could help with some advice please.

I own a 2008 ford focus zetec 1.6tdci and since the cold weather has started at the beginning of the week it has started cutting out whenever it hits boost.

I drove 30 miles tuesday and aslong as i was under around 2k it would drive fine as soon as it went over the revs would duck down and then slowly drop until it stalled.

Im thinking it could be a dirty fuel filter restricting the flow and cutting it out but would appreciate any input that can be offered.

Thanks guys

I had similar issues a couple of weeks ago with a mk3. It didn't cut out but there was no power above 2k.

I understand that the filters have wax in them that solidifies in cold weather when they are a bit tired.

Anyway a new filter sorted mine out. DIY if you can.

How long since the last one?
