07 focus 1.6 diesel POWER LOSS

Featured Replies

Recently my focus has been losing power at high speed 50/60 mph Foot hard down and total power loss, drift to the side of the road start it up n it works again. It happens to my wife at 40ish and she wasn’t able to start it for 5/10 mins. It happens couple times a week. The battery seems fine it always starts first time even in the snow at 5am. My feeling is camshaft sensor? What do you thing? Is it a diy job?

thankd Steven

Could be a number of things, cam sensor, egr, fuel filter etc.

Can you get a code reader on it? Tunnelrat sell good elm cables for less than £20 and forscan software is free.

Thanks for the reply, I’m going to get the codes read hopefully I have a elm forscan  but it’ll not work on my new iPhone 👎

Yeah a USB one for a laptop is generally considered a much more reliable method if you can...
