Focus mk3 headlight fault

Featured Replies

So I had a bulb blow I have changed the bulb with a new one and it' not working tried several bulbs and checked the fuses however there is still nothing. Any suggestions.

Assuming its not an led bulb (which needs to be fitted the correct way round )  Can you get a multimeter on the terminals in the bulb holder and see if there is voltage coming through when the headlights are on?

If the other light is working fine, then its either a duff replacement bulb or there's been some inadvertent damage done either when changing the bulb or as a result of the old bulb blowing, depending how violently...

If you haven't got a multimeter, inspect the wires going from the bulb holder back into the loom.  If possible, try the bulb from the other side in it as that is known to be working.

EDIT: Just thought - does it throw up a canbus error on the dash?
