Featured Replies

hi all im new to the site i have just got a escort mk6 3door 1.3 it has the endura e engine all i wanna know is what engine swap choices do i have i dont want to have to do to much wireing is there anything that dropos right in

Hi there

Unfortunately i dont anything much will drop in on that wiring loom.

The best bet would be to buy a 1.8 Zetec powered Escort that has failed MOT or something for £200-£400 and swap all the engine, wiring loom, suspension and brakes and exhaust from that and put straight into yours.

2 things more really a mate has two engines in hes garage a xr2i 1.6 cvh efi engine and a normal 1.6 cvh engine would any of these be a easy fit

You would have to alter one mount i believe and it would be more work than changing to a zetec.

The zetec is a lot better engine all round. The CVH is old hat now

The mistake that i made when i changed my engine in my fiesta 1999 zetec is you have to reprograme the key to get the car started it stumped me for 4 weeks once i sold it to a car reparer i ask him and he told me ecu was sending the wrong singnel
